Intention of the work
This typeface was inspired by my parents’ love letters, which I secretly read. I tried to incorporate as much of the romance of the period as possible, intending to give it a lyrical quality and a sense of awkwardness yet with sincerity. It is characterized by how it combines the structure of the classical Gungsuh with a modern sans serif form.
Winner’s Comment
First of all, I would like to thank my parents for letting me secretly read their love letters.
It was a great honor to receive an award in such a large competition, even though there were many difficulties, as I was an inexperienced newbie in type design. It makes me so happy to have achieved success with Morisawa, a company I often heard about when I was at university in Japan.
This award will encourage me to keep working hard in the future.
