More recently, the development of many fonts is decidedly more dependent on equipment. Though greater efficiency is critical, ultimately efficiency is irrelevant if the fonts we create do not have inherent appeal. We believe that attractive fonts are created by the hands of individuals. We want to see something real: that is, fonts made by people who’ve pondered what they’ve written, and who care enough to carefully correct it. We therefore are happy to see fonts that aren’t necessarily earth-shattering. We also love fonts that might look somewhat ordinary at first glance, but begin to show us their appeal the longer you gaze at them. We’re very excited to witness all of this.
