

Morisawa Inc. (hereafter referred to as Morisawa) has released the digital collection of works from the “Morisawa Type Design Competition 2024” (hereafter referred to as the MOTC 2024) on its official website.
MOTC 2024 aims to discover talented type designers and provide them with a platform to showcase their work, featuring a diverse panel of judges representing various fields. The competition attracted submissions filled with creativity and a spirit of challenge.
The published digital collection showcases a total of 50 award-winning works selected from 1,092 submissions across the following categories: 173 entries in the Japanese category, 480 in the Latin category, 193 in the Simplified Chinese category, 92 in the Traditional Chinese category, and 154 in the Hangul category. In addition to detailed information about each winning work, the collection also includes judges’ comments, winners’ remarks, and overall evaluations from the judges.

Currently, the collection is available in Japanese and English, with Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, and Korean pages scheduled for release in June.

On June 5, 2025 (Thursday), we will host the “Morisawa Type Design Competition 2024” award ceremony and a special lecture by Mr. Issay Kitagawa, CEO and Head Designer of GRAPH.
