To achieve a typeface design that enables a high-quality typesetting, type designers put in many hours of training and practice over the long term, and also engage in a process of trial and error with specific issues to try to arrive at the desired look.
Meanwhile, the approach and aesthetics of typeface designers regarding typeface design and typography inevitably have an impact on how the design turns out. The typeface designer perspective is both diverse and subjective, and the process of creating a new typeface depends on how naturally and smoothly the individual can apply their own solid conviction and aesthetics to the process as they also work to meet a specified set of conditions. Type designers around the world grapple with these issues on a daily basis. With this in mind, we look forward to seeing the spirit of the challenge behind the work in each entry we receive.
